Blackened Red Snapper

Serve this dish with our Dirty Cajun Cauliflower “Rice” and some roasted okra, and you are set for an amazing cajun dish that will make you think you are in New Orleans!  So damn good.



  • 2 (6-8 oz) Red Snapper Fillets
  • 2 tbsp. Ghee (or butter)
  • Seasoning Mixture:
    • 1 tsp. paprika
    • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
    • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    • 1 tsp. black pepper
    • 1/4 tsp. cayenne
    • 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
    • 1/4 tsp. dried oregano


1.Combine the seasoning mixture in a small bowl.  Set aside.

2. Take the red snapper fillets and season them all over with the seasoning, press the seasoning into the mixture and flip over the fillets until they are coated completely and evenly. Put the coated red snapper fillets on a plate.

3. Heat up a large skillet over medium-high heat until piping hot, and add the ghee. Let the ghee melt, coating the pan evenly, then lay the red snapper fillets into the pan.IMG_8157

4. Cook the red snapper for six to eight minutes. Flip and cook for the same amount of time on the other side. Serve with a wedge of lemon.IMG_8166
