Have you ever tried making my Whole30 Mongolian Beef recipe? If you haven’t, what are you waiting for? It is definitely a fan and a personal favorite. This Crispy Ginger Beef + Broccoli Stir Fry is super similar to that, so you can’t go wrong either way, but a few little changes make this one crispier, extra gingery, and oh-so-delicious.
Enjoy this Crispy Ginger Beef + Broccoli Stir Fry!
- 1.5 lbs. sirloin steak
- salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp. arrowroot flour
- ~4 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
- 2 cups snap peas
- Toasted sesame seeds, optional for serving
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch nob of ginger, peeled and grated finely
- 1 tsp. toasted sesame seed oil
- 2 tbsp. rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (optional/or more to taste)
- 1 tbsp. fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup coconut aminos
- 1 tsp. fish sauce
- 1 tsp. arrowroot flour/starch
- Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl, whisk to combine and set aside.
- Remove excess fat from steak then slice steak, against the grain, as thinly as possible.
- Place the sliced steak in a large bowl, season with salt and pepper, to taste. Add 2 tbsp. arrowroot and toss until all of the steak is evenly coated.
- Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add 2 tbsp. olive oil and swirl the pan so it is evenly coated on the bottom. Add the steak in a single layer (you will likely need to do this in batches depending on the size of skillet) and sear the steak on the first side until it is very browned and slightly crisp, about 4 minutes. Flip, and sear on the other side until crisp and browned. When both sides are cooked, transfer the cooked steak onto a plate and set aside. Continue this process, you will likely need to add more olive oil along the way, until all of the steak is browned and crisp.
- In the same skillet, add the broccoli and snap peas (if the skillet is dry add 1 more tbsp. olive oil here) and saute until lightly browned and tender, about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add the sauce and stir. It should thicken up very quickly thanks to the arrowroot. Toss in the cooked steak, toss to coat the meat. Serve immediately!
You will not regret making this!!! I wish I could eat it for every single meal. So delicious!!!
I made this tonight and it was so great I used. Minute steak since it was what I had and I tenderized, it was delicious to say the least!
Can this be made with chicken? Looks soooo yummy. Thanks
definitely!
I made this tonight and we loved it. The sauce was so good that I will make some extra next time.
I made this tonight for dinner and it was absolutely delicious! The sauce was so flavorful! It was a big hit with my hubby, who is sometimes more picky than my son. Lol! I added some sliced carrots to it for some extra veggies. We will definitely be making this again.
Fantastic! I am so glad to hear everyone enjoyed it! 🙂
